Kerch Adopts Economic Development Strategy
July 27, 2010 — Crimea’s Kerch City Rada at the plenary meeting adopted the Economic Development Strategic Plan in a unanimous vote.
The voting followed a presentation of the draft plan by an expert from USAID LINC, which had assisted the Kerch Expert Committee for Economic Development in drafting the document.
Before introducing the draft strategy to the plenary meeting, it was discussed by the Rada’s committees, which made a few amendments, mainly in the implementation timeline of several projects under the strategy’s action plans.
The Expert Committee began drafting the strategy under the guidance of LINC in July 2009, and finished on June 30, 2010. The strategic plan provides for two main directions and three priority sectors of the city’s economic development. The directions include creation of conditions for business development and investment attraction, and the sectors include resort and tourism, transport and logistics, and maritime complex.
