USAID LINC Continues Seminars on New Accounting and Rules for Small Hotels
January 18, 2012, Sudak, Crimea — USAID LINC supported the second seminar on new rules of accounting and taxation with regard to accommodation services provided by individuals and private entrepreneurs. The seminar was organized by the Small Hotels Association of Crimea and gathered about 45 owners and managers of private guest houses and small hotels from the South-East Crimea.
The participants discussed the newly adopted procedures and regulations concerning the provision of accommodation services to tourists and visitors, as well as further initiatives striving for simplified permit-issuing procedures and legalization of small-scale private accommodation services. They also talked about taxation, including the new classification of single tax payers, record keeping rules, varying tax rates, tax periods, etc. Other important topics included cash operations, liabilities of single tax payers, cooperation between sole proprietors and enterprises, use of hired labor.
The Small Hotels Association of Crimea was established in 2010 with support from USAID LINC in order to bring together small hotel and private lodging house owners, to provide information support, protect their rights and lobby their interests. The Association currently has 49 active members.
