USAID LINC Completes Second Week of Discussions on Public Procurement Development with Local Government Buyers
January 23-27, 2012, Dnipropetrovsk / Zaporizhya / Donetsk / Luhansk — USAID LINC continued its circuit round tables in Ukrainian regions to discuss pressing issues of preparing a National Strategy of Public Procurement Development.
The target audience of the meetings, facilitated by USAID LINC experts Simeon Sahaydachny and Oleksandr Kravchenko, typically include representatives from local government buyers, such as units of oblast state administrations and town halls, as well as communal enterprises and regional offices of the Association of Ukrainian Cities (AUC).
Two meetings were held in each of the four cities, in every city involving the local Rada and AUC office, jointly or separately, and also the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Dnipropetrovsk and Luhansk, as well as other stakeholders.
This year’s series of round tables, launched last week in Zhytomyr and Vinnytsya, is expected to continue next week in Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy, and then in Uzhgorod, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Chernivsti. Two more such weekly circuits had been carried out in 2011.
