Sep. 16, 2010 — A joint meeting of members of two committees in Chernivtsi came to conclusion on necessity to develop a new strategy for the city, which currently participates in the development, with assistance from USAID LINC, of the Bukovyna-Podillya region’s tourism industry strategy. The meeting was attended by members of the Chernivtsi Competitiveness Strategy Implementation Management Committee and the Chernivtsi delegates to the Expert Committee that is drafting the strategy for the Bukovyna-Podillya region.

Sep. 16, 2010 — USAID LINC facilitated an introductory meeting of the Khmelnytsky Oblast’s Kamyanets-Podilsky Strategic Planning Committee formed to draft a new economic development strategy for the city.

Dec. 13, 2010 — The Khelnytsky Oblast’s Kamyanets-Podilsky Expert Committee for Economic Development at its second meeting, facilitated by USAID LINC, discussed and approved the main directions and priority sectors identified earlier for the city’s development strategy.

Feb. 11, 2011 — In Chernivtsi, an expert committee, formed to draft a new economic development strategy for the city under the guidance of USAID LINC, held the introductory meeting.

April 29, 2011 — The Khelnytsky Oblast’s Kamyanets-Podilsky City Rada adopted the city’s new economic development strategy.

August 11, 2011, Chernivtsi — USAID LINC facilitated the second meeting of the Chernivtsi Expert Committee formed to draft a new economic development strategy for the city – until 2016.

September 5, 2011, Novoselytsya, Chernivtsi Oblast — Second meeting of the Novoselytsya Raion Expert Committee drafting the raion’s economic development strategy: review and approve results of the first meeting, present a menu of goals and objectives, discuss their probable impact on the local economy, and identify goals and objectives of the strategy.

September 15, 2011, Chernivtsi — The Expert Committee, which drafts a Chernivtsi Strategic Development Plan until 2016 under the guidance of USAID LINC, has agreed on the strategy’s draft Action Plans and is ready to put it up for public discussion.

October 11, 2011, Chernivtsi — The fourth, enlarged, meeting of the Chernivtsi Expert Committee considered the final draft Chernivtsi Strategic Development Plan for 2012-2016 and discussed the phase of its implementation and monitoring.

November 1, 2011, Khotyn, Chernivtsi Oblast — At the third meeting, the Khotyn Raion Expert Committee, which drafts the raion’s competitiveness strategy, reviewed and approved the final drafts of the strategy’s action plans, discussed their implementation, and identified priorities.

December 1-2, 2011, Novoselytsya, Chernivtsi Oblast — At its third meeting, the Novoselytsya Raion Expert Committee, which is drafting the raion’s economic development strategy under the guidance of USAID LINC, reviewed and approved the final drafts of Action Plans, discussed their implementation, and identified priorities.

December 2, 2011, Khotyn, Chernivtsi Oblast — The Khotyn Raion Expert Committee, having resumed its third meeting adjourned a month ago, discussed activities required to attain objectives of the raion’s Competitiveness Strategy being drafted by the committee under the guidance of USAID LINC.

October 31, 2011, Chernivtsi — The Chernivtsi City Rada uploaded the city’s draft development strategy to its official portal, inviting citizens to discussion of the draft.

March 29, 2012, Chernivtsi — The Chernivtsi City Rada approved the Chernivtsi Strategic Development Plan for 2012-2016, drafted with assistance from USAID LINC.

March 15, 2012, Novoselytsya, Chernivtsi Oblast — The Novoselytsya Raion Rada approved the Novoselytsya Raion Economic Development Strategic Plan for 2012-2016, drafted with assistance from USAID LINC.

June 23, 2010 — In Chernivtsi, USAID LINC and leaders of the Bukovyna-Podillya Region’s member communities signed a Protocol of Intentions to develop and implement a Strategic Plan of enhancing the region’s tourism industry competitiveness.

First meeting of the Expert Committee for Economic Development of the Bukovyna-Podillya Region – Present Community Profile and report on Business Attitude Survey, identify Critical Issues; formulate Strategic Vision; do SWOT analysis – for drafting of the region’s economic development and competitiveness strategy.

April 18, 2011 — In Chernivtsi, USAID LINC held a Regional Competitiveness Forum for representatives from communities comprising the Bukovyna-Podillya Region.

October 17-22, 2011, Kamyanets-Podilsky, Khmelnytsky Oblast — USAID LINC in conjunction with the Festival Agency “Ratusha” held a week-long event called “The Grand Festival Workshop.”

January 10-15, 2012, Bohorodchany, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast / Chernivtsi — USAID LINC carried out a workshop aimed at familiarizing the project’s tourism-oriented partner regions and municipalities with the best practices of using celebration of the Christmas and New Year season’s holidays as tourist attractions.

February 16-24, 2012, Kamyanets-Podilsky, Khmelnytsky Oblast — Thirteen guides from Kamyanets-Podilsky and neighboring Khotyn, Chernivtsy Oblast, attended USAID LINC’s course “Sharing Best Practices in Tourist Guiding” and took exams for international certification.

March 1-9, 2012, Chernivtsi — USAID LINC delivered a course “Sharing Best Practices in Tourist Guiding” to 14 English-speaking guides from the Bukovynian capital to train them in international standards of the profession. Twelve of the 14 passed exams for international certification by the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA).

March 7-11, 2012, Berlin, Germany — Chernivtsi, Kamyanets-Podilsky, and Khotyn, the three member cities of the Bukovyna-Podillya Region, showcased themselves as a common tourist destination at the 46th International Tourism Bourse – ITB Berlin – the world’s leading travel trade show.

April 19-20, 2012, Kamyanets-Podilsky, Khmelnytsky Oblast — USAID LINC delivered a workshop, “Mass Communications and PR in Tourism Destination Promotion,” to regional and local government officers and NGO activists engaging in tourism development in the project’s partner regions and municipalities.

May 19-20, 2012, Kamyanets-Podilsky, Khmelnytsky Oblast — International historical festival “Porta Temporis 2012” dedicated to the 650th anniversary of the Battle of Blue Waters: support the festival.
