Sep. 30, 2010 — By completing Project Sheets, the Odesa Expert Committee for Economic Development at its fourth meeting gave the finishing touches to the draft Economic Development Strategic Plan, which the committee had been developing under the guidance of USAID LINC since January 2010.

USAID Project Raises Awareness of Regional Competitiveness

LINC project conducted a two-day Regional Competitiveness forum in Yuzhne, Odesa Oblast. The event was organized in anticipation of the project's strategic planning effort for the Odesa-Teplodar-Yuzhne Economic Sub-region ("Odesa Agglomeration"), and aimed at raising consciousness and understanding of competitiveness issues among the communities that will be working on the regional competitiveness planning and/or be involved in plan implementation. Similar forums are also scheduled for three more sub-regions, two in the Luhansk Oblast and one in Crimea.

July 16, 2010 — The Expert Committee for Economic Development of the Odesa-Teplodar-Yuzhne Sub-region, or just the Odesa Agglomeration, discussed, adjusted, and approved goals of the sub-region’s competitiveness and economic development strategy the committee is drafting under the guidance of USAID LINC.

Nov. 24-26, 2010 — In Odesa, the Expert Committee for Economic Development of the Odesa-Teplodar-Yuzhne Sub-region finalized the draft sub-regional Economic Development Strategic Plan.
