Central Luhansk Task Forces Identify Economic Development Goals

In Alchevsk, Luhansk Oblast, task forces within the Expert Committee for Economic Development of the Central Luhansk Sub-region identified goals of the sub-region's economic development strategy that the committee is drafting with assistance from the USAID LINC Project.

Stakhanov Adopts Economic Development Strategy

May 26, 2010 – The Stakhanov City Rada, Luhansk Oblast, unanimously voted for adoption of the Economic Development Strategic Plan drafted in the city with assistance from the USAID LINC Project.

Bryanka Adopts Economic Development Strategy

July 29, 2010 — The Luhansk Oblast”s Bryanka City Rada adopted the Bryanka Economic Development Strategic Plan drafted by the local Committee for Economic Development with assistance from USAID LINC. The plan focuses on investment attraction, SME development, and communal infrastructure.

USAID Project Holds Competiveness Forum, Signs Protocol of Intentions in Central Luhansk Region

LINC project held a two-day forum on Regional Competitiveness for representatives from Central Luhansk agglomeration communities. The event included the signing by LINC and the City Radas of Alchevsk, Bryanka, and Stakhanov of a Protocol of Intentions to develop and implement an Economic Development Strategic Plan for the Central Luhansk Region.

Earlier, LINC carried out regional competitiveness forums in Severodonetsk, Luhansk Oblast, and Yuzhne, Odesa Oblast.

June 16-17, 2010 — In Stakhanov, Luhansk Oblast, the Expert Committee (EC) for Economic Development of the Central Luhansk Sub-region, split into five task forces and reinforced by relevant local experts, drew up lists of objectives for the sub-region's draft economic development strategy.

Dec. 23-24, 2010 — Two of three members of the Central Luhansk Sub-region, the cities of Alchevsk and Stakhanov, adopted the sub-regional Economic Development Strategic Plan, drafted with assistance from USAID LINC, by decisions of the local City Radas.

Dec. 28, 2010 — In a unanimous vote for approval of the Central Luhansk Sub-regional Economic Development Strategic Plan, the Luhansk Oblast’s Bryanka City Rada completed the USAID LINC-guided strategic planning process in the sub-region.

USAID LINC Holds Science Commercialization Round Table for Central Luhansk Sub-region

June 14, 2011 — In Alchevsk, USAID LINC held a round table on technology commercialization for SME competitiveness for representatives of research and educational institutions and small to medium enterprises as well as private entrepreneurs in the Central Luhansk Sub-region. The sub-region comprises the Luhansk Oblast’s cities of Alchevsk, Bryanka and Stakhanov.
