Odesa Has Drafted Economic Development Strategy

Sep. 30, 2010 — By completing Project Sheets, the Odesa Expert Committee for Economic Development at its fourth meeting gave the finishing touches to the draft Economic Development Strategic Plan, which the committee had been developing under the guidance of USAID LINC since January 2010.

Odesa Has Drafted Its Economic Strategy

May 28, 2010 – Odesa Expert Committee for Economic Development at its final meeting presented the draft Odesa Economic Development Strategic Plan hammered with assistance from LINC.

2nd Meeting of Odesa EC (2nd session)

The Odesa Expert Committee for Economic Development (EC), split into task forces for each of the city's draft economic development strategy’s five critical issues, adjusted objectives (specific projects) of the city's strategy that the committee is drafting with assistance from LINC. Then the whole EC prioritized the objectives and began elaborating them into tasks.
The Odesa strategy's critical issues, identified earlier, include communal infrastructure, business infrastructure, investment attraction / industrial restructuring, tourism, and human resource development

2nd Meeting of Odesa EC

The Odesa Expert Committee for Economic Development split into five task forces identified goals and objectives of the city's economic development strategy that the committee is drafting under the guidance of LINC.
The task forces had been formed for each of the strategy's five critical issues identified earlier: communal infrastructure, business infrastructure, investment attraction / industrial restructuring, tourism, and human resource development.

1st Meeting of Odesa EC (2nd session)

The Odesa Expert Committee for Economic Development (EC), facilitated by the USAID LINC Project, formulated a strategic vision of the city as the "creative cradle of Ukraine's prosperity", and completed SWOT analyses for each of the four critical issues of the city's economic development strategy: communal infrastructure, business infrastructure, investment attraction / industrial restructuring, and tourism.

Protocol of Intentions Signed

Jan. 21, 2010 — USAID LINC and the cities of Odesa, Teplodar and Yuzhne, as well as the Odesa Oblast’s raions of Bilyaivka, Kominternivske and Ovidiopol signed the Protocol of Intentions to develop and implement a common regional competitiveness strategy.
