Crimea's Kazantyp Region Continues Elaborating Economic Development Strategy

2009-12-22 - The third meeting of the Kazantyp Region Expert Committee for Economic Development in the Crimean city of Scholkine determined projects that will comprise action plans of regional economic strategy. The document, called Economic Development Strategic Plan of the Kazantyp Region, is being drafted by the committee with assistance from the USAID LINC project. Earlier, the committee identified two priority directions and two priority sectors for the region's economic development. The directions include creation of conditions for development of SME and Scholkine Industrial Park, and the sectors include tourism and alternative power engineering. |

July 21, 2009 - Sholkine, small city in Northern Crimea, has vast improved land resources and is designated by the Republic as a location for a potential industrial park. The Project sees the potential of the city as significant both in regional and Crimea-wide terms. The purpose of this meeting is to present the strategic planning process and methodology to EC members, discuss the next analytical phase in the strategy creation process, and set a schedule for strategic plan development. A protocol of agreement will also be signed. |
