May 31, 2010 – The Implementation Committee that monitors the implementation of the Bakhchysaray Raion Sustainable Development Strategy in Crimea, held its third meeting to focus on projects of old town renovation and industrial park development.

Bakhchysaray Raion and City Have Drafted Their Economic Strategy

2009-12-10 - Crimea's Bakhchysaray Expert Committee for Economic Development at its final, enlarged, meeting publicized what they call the economic block of the Bakhchysaray Raion and City Sustainable Development Strategy. The block focuses on creation of conditions for investment attraction, improvement in raion development management, and development of hard infrastructure. The committee drafted the strategy with assistance from the USAID LINC project and UNDP Crimea Integration and Development Program, LINC being in charge of the economic block.

Bakhchysaray Raion Defines Economic Development Tasks

September 25, 2009 – The Friday session of the third joint meeting of USAID LINC-guided Crimea's Bakhchysaray city/raion Expert Committee for Economic Development and the UNDP Crimea Integration and Development Program's working groups approved tasks under long-term goals and discussed activities related to the tasks within the economic block of the draft Bakhchysaray Raion Sustainable Development Strategy.

The draft strategy's long-term economic goals, identified earlier, include investment attraction, improved management of the raion's development, utilities infrastructure development, and tourism development.

Bakhchysaray Raion Defines Structure of Economic Development Strategy

September 22, 2009 – A joint meeting of USAID LINC-guided Crimea's Bakhchysaray city/raion Expert Committee for Economic Development and the UNDP Crimea Integration and Development Program's working groups approved the structure proposed by LINC for the economic development strategy, part of general Bakhchysaray Raion Sustainable Development Strategy that is being drafted with assistance from the two donors.

First Meeting of Bakhchysaray Economic Development Committee

August 26, 2009 - The Expert Committee for Economic Development of the Bakhchysaray city and raion, Crimea, gathered for its first meeting facilitated by LINC. LINC experts presented the Community Profile and a report on the Business Attitude Survey, and also facilitated identification of critical issues, formulation of strategic vision, and SWOT analysis for the city's future economic development strategy.

Bakchysaray, Crimea: Introductory meeting of the Expert Committee for Economic Development (EC) including the signing of Protocol of Intentions between the Bakchysaray City Rada and LINC

July 22, 2009 - Bakchysaray is a small city south of Simferopol, which has a large Tatar population in its surrounding raion, and which boasts Tatar historical sites of great cultural moment.  The city is too small to create its own strategic development plan, and the work here will accordingly be a combined urban/raion project that will take into account the needs of the city, the rural areas and the potential of economic interaction to build agricultural and tourism jobs and investment. The purpose of this meeting is to present the strategic planning process and methodology to EC members, discuss the next analytical phase in the strategy creation process, and set a schedule for strategic plan development.  A protocol of agreement will also be signed.
